“Flights of Hope and Healing”

This public art project serves not only as a visual spectacle but as a powerful narrative echoing the principles of diversity, equity, accessibility, and inclusion. It becomes a celebration of ours and the global community—a mosaic of voices, experiences, and transformative possibilities. In my role as a social practice artist, I see it as a personal responsibility to embed messages of hope, justice, and community celebration into beautiful artworks, challenging viewers and leaders to act in response for the sake of future generations.

This mural is a powerful and symbolic public art piece that captures the celebration of societal transformation and collective growth. The artwork prominently features a bird, symbolizing a giving spirit of justice, compassion, and support, along with a leaf representing our instinctual connection to love, nature, and healing. Additional components include symbols of land, wind, water, sun, moon, and sky, representing the broader context of the country and world we live in.

The circle medallions floating across the design signify the interconnectedness of all life, emphasizing a necessary commitment to community healing. The uppermost area prioritizes community healing and celebration, aligning with the principles of hope and transformative potential.
