“Veneration of Loss - It Happened Here - Bare Hands”
Wood, dirt, and a lighting component. New Orleans, LA 2017 - Prospect 4. This is the first installation of the “Veneration of Loss” series. A selection of 32 drawings from a larger collection that reference exact locations where lives were lost to murder in Chattanooga, Tennessee from 2004–2016. A drawing was created for all 295-murder instances within this thirteen-year period using the address of each documented murder, and the center point of each drawing is the exact point of loss. This selection references all 32 instances of individuals whose lives were lost by being beaten.
